Naturopathic doctors, like allopathic or osteopathic physicians, hold a four-year undergraduate degree as well as an additional four-year doctorate degree. All clients are required to work with a physician locally. This doctor will act as your primary resource for diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. What we can do is help you understand new or confusing diagnoses, discuss recent lab findings, help you with specific health goals, and help you implement treatment recommendations made by your doctor. Think of the information shared in these consultations as the type of conversation you might have with a neighbor or close friend who is a doctor - you may ask for their input or ideas, but wouldn't expect them to diagnose or prescribe medication without being seen in their clinic first.
