Gut Brain Connection

You’ve heard of the terms “anxious belly”, “butterflies in your stomach”, or “a gut feeling”? These are more than just phrases! There is science to back them up! This October, I'll be leading a workshop where we’ll explore the intersection between mind & body, specifically how this relates to gut health & emotions.

We have learned a lot about the brain-gut axis in the past decade. There is now more evidence that shows how the gut microbiome interacts with the brain.

This supports a model that connects different systems in the body like the central nervous, gastrointestinal, and immune systems with the gut microbiome. Studies show that there are many potential targets for new treatments not just for functional gastrointestinal disorders but also for other diseases like Parkinson's disease, autism spectrum disorders, anxiety, and depression. We'll be exploring all of the research around this in a few weeks!

Yoga is said to be a process of regulating the mind-body experience. This workshop will give you tools to regulate the gut-brain axis and expand your toolkit on evenness of mind. For in-person and virtual options, the workshop is set for October 15th 2:30 - 4:00pm PST. For those that can't make it, there will be a recording available!

Hope to see you there!
